About Jean Wolfrum
Photography started for me in the darkroom, developing and printing with different Black & White films, processes and toners. I am grateful that I can still return to it occasionally and still do infrared photography with that surreal look. I also love color, bright color and find many opportunities to go out and capture it. My love of outdoors, especially trees, is what I look for when photographing. My experience in photography includes, portraits, pets (very hard to do), sailboat races, nature, architecture and travel photography. My husband and I had a rare opportunity to sail our boat "Canard Azul" and do the transatlantic circle to Europe and the Caribbean from 2006-2008. I used that time to collect some beautiful and interesting landscapes from different countries. I also lived in the beautiful city of Charleston SC that I show in my photos. I have taught photography classes at the Gibb's Museum School of Art in Charleston SC for 9 years including matting and framing. I have also taught hand painting with heavy oil for photographs, an old fashion skill done in the 20th century. My goal is to keep learning and growing in photography and make images that will take your breath away. There is nothing more stunning than when you see the perfect tree with the perfect lighting and background - click!. I also specialize in fine art women photography portraits using infrared film. They are surreal and elegant looking, almost timeless for any age.
